Boating and Rafting
Rifle has great boating opportunities. Rifle Gap State Park and Harvey Gap State Park are both nearby and offer terrific boating, waterskiing, jet skiing and fishing options.
In the summer months you may also raft on the Colorado River. Travel 25 minutes east to Glenwood Springs to find a number of whitewater rafting guide companies that offer full or half day trips on the Colorado and Roaring Fork rivers.
Most of the mountain lakes nearby are also open to smaller crafts such as canoes and float-tubes. Be sure to check specific regulations before using motorized craft on lakes in the White River National Forest.
