Climbing
There are lots of places to climb near Rifle, but for most it starts and ends with Rifle Mountain Park. Rifle Mountain Park is world famous in the climbing community for its density of world-class climbing routes. The park has over 250 bolted routes to choose from and climbers flock to Rifle in the summer and fall to challenge themselves against the sheer canyon walls. In the winter, many of the slow trickling springs freeze to form giant frozen waterfalls. These formations are great for ice climbing and attract climbers from across the state.
