Super 8 Hotel - Rifle Colorado

Mountain Biking

Rifle has a trail for anyone, and the Rifle Super 8 offers the perfect, central location to begin your adventures. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced mountain biker, you will love our local scenery. Our rides meander through very diverse terrain from shale cliffs and sandstone mesas, to aspen and fir forests. Much of the local terrain consists of sagebrush parks or pinion-juniper woodlands, but at higher elevations you can see grass and wildflower meadows, mountain streams and high mountain forests. In addition, to the terrain, the views are amazing. From some points, panoramic vistas extend for hundreds of miles. Pick up a trail map at the Information Center, just off the highway in Rifle, and explore the beauty of our nearby mountain trails.

The JQS Road is a local favorite. This ride is on a one lane dirt road that switchbacks its way skyward to the top of the Roan Cliffs. These Cliffs are the dominant feature of the Rifle topography and overlook the valley from a 9000 foot elevation. Once on the top of the plateau, riders may choose from a myriad of jeep trails that criss-cross the mountain. Keep an eye out for deer, elk and even an occasional bear.

The Rifle Information Center at 200 Lions Park Circle provides area mountain biking trail maps. From the Super 8 head east on South Seventh Street and then proceed north through the roundabouts. You will see signs for the Information Center just north of the roundabouts.
